Senior Business Analyst -- TechShop Corporate

DESCRIPTION
TechShop Corporate seeks a bright, enthusiastic, self-motivated Jack- or Jill-of-all-trades to work as a full-time Senior Business Analyst.

Operating with the mindset of sustainable process improvement, the Senior Business Analyst works closely with business units to foster a productive value-producing relationship between IT and the business partner. The Senior Business Analyst seeks to maximize the value of business solutions to the organization, translating business requirements to solution developers and to ensure successful solution implementation and utilization. Working under general supervision, the Senior Business Analyst supports ongoing maintenance and implementation and leads project teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES

These include (but aren't limited to) the following:
  • Envision, design, develop, tests and implements business practices utilizing technology to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of assigned departments
  • Analyze and support institutional business and process improvement initiatives through effective business analysis; define, plan, organize and conduct business analysis
  • Work with Operations to develop comprehensive requirements
  • Manage changes to requirements through use of change control processes and tools
  • Lead and support IT project management for projects as required
  • Collaborate with project teams to define project scope, goals, deliverables, feasibility/cost-benefit analyses and output requirements
  • Coordinate with project teams to manage project assignments, timelines, system configuration, testing and go-live plans
  • Develop documentation and facilitate knowledge transfer to functional users; track project issues, risks and changes
  • Translate requirements into business, functional and use case documents
  • Work with Operations to develop and execute comprehensive system test plans, conditions, test scripts and test cases
  • Coordinate go-live planning and deployment of solution for small to mid-sized projects
  • Maintain business systems standards by applying project management methods, tools and processes as standard practice
  • Drive continuous improvement, processes efficiencies and change and solution adoption efforts
  • Conduct after-action analyses of projects; review project deliverables and results with stakeholders
  • Ensure systems meet or exceed pre-defined requirements; work with project teams to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance and maximize strategic value of systems and solutions
  • Establish processes to ensure data integrity and security; organize and work with Operations to document user profiles, roles and groups residing within CRM software
  • Compare reports and test between systems to ensure data integrity
  • Coordinate institutional reporting needs; develop reports; support report writer development and training to expand institutional reporting capabilities
  • Contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of the department’s service to its customers by offering suggestions and directing or participating as an active member of a work team
REQUIREMENTS
The following experience and skill set are especially preferred:
  • At least 5-7 years of experience as a business analyst in a technical environment
  • Ability to clearly capture and document software requirements
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Analysis skills (Includes basic data analysis, databases
  • Demonstrated experience in writing and debugging SQL scripts (highly desired but not required)
  • UI/UX knowledge and experience (highly desired)
  • Visual modeling (workflow diagrams, wireframe prototypes)
  • Excellent interpersonal, cross-cultural communication skills (presentational, active listening, ability to build obtain buy-in and support across functions and at all levels)
  • PMP Certification (highly desired but not required)
  • Experience with Jira a plus
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams
  • Experience working with global teams, or with virtual teams would be an advantage
  • Knowledgeable of several project management methodologies, but would like someone also very familiar with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies and hybrid or bimodal methodologies
  • Demonstrate respect, honesty and professionalism at all times
  • Consummate team player, willing to do what is necessary to get the job done
  • Customer focused, taking a customer-centric approach to problem solving
  • Perform a variety of other duties as assigned
  • A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years of working in a professional, collaborative environment
